This artwork draws inspiration from traditional motifs and folkloric charm – a tribute to the artistry of Pattachitra painting style. Boitas were large boats and ships that were built in the ancient Kalinga region whose sea facing areas consisted of coastal Odisha and had major trading ports. Boitas were used by ancient marine merchants to sail from Kalinga to distant lands such of Sri Lanka, Java, Sumatra & Bali for trade purposes.
