Theyyam – The dancing Gods of Kerala.

Theyyam is a ritualistic dance theatre art form, performed in the Malabar region of Kerala, India. Rooted in cultural heritage, it revolves around the worship of ancestral spirits, local deities and divine heroes. Colourful costumes, elaborate face painting and ornate headgear are unique to each character and play a crucial role in transforming the artist into the deity.
